“I will campaign as a voice for the families of Precinct 1. The County Commissioner needs to know how to balance the growth of Precinct 1 with the needs of its current residents.”
I oppose the proposed changes to the Grand Parkway Toll Road.
The concept of the recently proposed Grand Parkway Toll Road departs unrecognizably from the Grand Parkway that has been historically planned and promoted as a scenic, aesthetically pleasing, divided, rural highway.
I oppose the destruction of local businesses to make way for the Toll Road.
The current design for the intersection of US Highway 59, Texas Highway 99 and Texas Farm Road 2759 (Grand Parkway to Crabb River Road) requires the destruction of at least four established businesses in the River Park Shopping Center and will make it much harder for customers to drive to the 41 businesses that will remain behind. Destroying established local businesses to benefit drive-through traffic is NOT in the interest of Fort Bend County or its residents.
I oppose the destruction of local churches and cemeteries to make way for the Toll Road
The current plan for the the roadway along the Crabb River Road section of Texas Farm Road 2759 will result in the destruction of the historic sanctuary of Mount Mariah Church, and will disrupt the serenity of a neighboring cemetery. Is this the county we want to live in? Where churches and cemeteries are bulldozed to make way for toll roads?
I oppose damaging local neighborhoods to make way for the Toll Road
The current plan for the Crabb River Road section of Texas Farm Road 2759 will severely inhibit access to the surrounding residential neighborhoods via Sansbury Boulevard. The current plan also places the roadway much too close to the neighborhoods between Canyon Gate and Greatwood subdivisions, the neighborhoods of the Brazos Gardens and Brazos Village subdivisions, the Bridlewood subdivision. Neighborhoods are the core of our community and I will fight to protect them.
I oppose foreign involvement in the construction and operation of the Toll Road
There is a clear pattern of foreign companies profiting from road-building projects that hurt Texas communities due to government boondoggles and political corruption. We will not allow this to happen in Fort Bend County.
There is a better way to do this, click here to see the resolution I will submit as a county commissioner.
